It had all started when a man in his 30s’ had a vision for making individuals communicate with chatbots on search engines. And today, this small idea has turned into a lifestyle technology. This man is none other than ‘Aakrit Vaish’, the CEO and Co-Founder of the earth’s biggest tech stage “Haptik.”
Aakrit Vaish was once a person with no knowledge in a technology startup. He was completely new to the industry. It all changed from his 1st career experience at Flurry. He witnessed so many hurdles and stumbled on his path to success. Yet ‘Perseverance’ was his secret mantra to triumph. Speaking of his professional experience, Aakrit pointed out ~
“Growing up in India and moving to the USA to pursue my graduation, my career started in technology. I was an employee number 12 with a san Francisco-based start-up called flurry. Been co-founder & CEO of Haptik since 6+ years, which was acquired by reliance industries in 2019. I am also an angel investor in around 15 startups. Previously my career started at silicon valley startup flurry. And was co-founder of Flatchat (flat.to) which was later acquired by commonfloor.”
Boasting of a processing rate of 2 Billion+ conversations, today “Haptik” stands one among the biggest Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) Companies.
A QUICK STORY ABOUT HAPTIK FOUNDER: AAKRIT’S PERSONAL LIFE
The Mumbai-Wala Aakrit Vaish left his home at the young age of 19. He pursued Engineering at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He struggled a lot in his first year of college life, as he was from a different living. Aakrit was the only boy child for his family. So, he was well-pampered and brought up.

He mentioned that the US was a completely drastic turnover in his life and changed his identity.
In the words of Aakrit ~ “So far, I had led a very protective childhood. Since I did not have siblings I was pampered by my large family. I had never been to a boarding school. And then suddenly I found myself alone in an alien land!”
A GIGANTIC LEAP IN INDIAN TECHNOLOGY – THE ‘HAPTIK’ OF AAKRIT
Aakrit Vaish was once asked to share his challenges of starting the idea of chatbots in India. He shared that the startup India scenario at present (i.e. in 2013) was just evolving with the terms ‘AI’ and ‘Chatbots’. He and his team had so many challenges and issues with bringing what exactly a client demands. And providing it at the right time. The more challenging part was the up-bringing of this idea in the Indian regions, which was highly improbable.
However, he grew slowly from his efforts. He stated that Haptik is unique and standalone from the rest, by capturing what a customer needs.
From his words ~ “In fact, one of the most powerful aspects of Haptik’s operations which distinguishes us is our focus on developing an immaculate understanding of what the client wants. By developing a clear understanding of the same, we were able to develop chatbots that were perfectly suited to offer what was expected of them!”
Opening their views through mere examples and words, now Haptik possesses its full-stack platform with technology implementation and a successful team!

SOME OF THE TURNING POINTS FOR BOTH AAKRIT AND HAPTIK
● Aakrit faced an unsuccessful beta phase of Haptik in December 2013. He was about to drop off the plan. Due to the insistence of his team, to put 1 real final shot, the Haptik application was launched on March 31, 2014. And within 24hours of its release, websites had 5x more traffic than the usual rate!
● While waiting for his verbal response and query from a big firm to show support for Aaptik’s chatbot idea, the funding investor fell apart and even the shortest connection was cut. Days passed and his money was getting over. But one day he met ‘Satyan Gajwani’ from the “Times Internet” and his enthusiasm towards Haptik and the venture capital was ended with Series B in April 2016. This small VC capital gave Aakrit 2x returns right from their early investment period!
● On February 13th, 2013, an inbound mail came to Aakrit’s inbox and it read the message that Coca-Cola requires a chatbot facility. The Coca-Cola team and the members of Haptik met with a small discussion, about the requirement for a chatbot on their official Facebook page, at the Starbucks Mumbai Airport, assuring them the quality of results. After this 1 event, more than 12 companies had landed on their business and soon Aakrit and Hapitk were the fore-runners in the industry line!
THE GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT OF AAKRIT EVER
After all these winning moments, Aakrit Vaish considers his biggest achievement as his parents and family.
He says his family means the world to him and he is the happiest person when present with his family. “Being able to make my parents feel proud is by far my greatest achievement. They have done everything they could to give me a comfortable life. Now, it’s time for me to do my best and provide them with all the love and happiness that I can!”
A simple, young Indian, only with the strength of unique thinking and perseverance was once a person with 0 knowledge about business or technology, and today, Aakrit Vaish is reputed 1 among the ‘Top 16 Solutions Providers’ in Opus Research’s Annual Report!
