The Greatland Resources Telfer mine produced 70,131 ounces of gold and approximately 2,900 tonnes of copper in the September 2026 quarter.
Greatland reported A$289 million in operating cash flow. Its cash balance increased by A$25 million to A$1.314 billion, with no debt at quarter-end.
The difference between those two cash figures matters. Money generated from operations also went towards tax, sustaining work, exploration and growth projects.
Telfer is supporting expansion, but it needs investment of its own.

Telfer Supplies Cash Before Havieron Produces Gold
Gold sales reached 71,901 ounces at an average realised price of A$5,980 an ounce. Together with copper sales, they contributed to reported net revenue of A$485 million.
The quarter also included A$58 million in Telfer growth expenditure and A$45 million at Havieron.
| September quarter measure | Reported result |
| Gold production | 70,131oz |
| Copper production | Approximately 2,900 tonnes |
| Gold sold | 71,901oz |
| Net revenue | A$485 million |
| Operating cash flow | A$289 million |
| Closing cash | A$1.314 billion |
| Quarter-on-quarter cash increase | A$25 million |
Greatland paid A$100 million in tax during the quarter. Sustaining capital, corporate and finance costs, and resource development also used cash.
The closing balance nevertheless rose. That is useful evidence of Telfer’s contribution while Havieron remains in its construction phase.
Colitco’s coverage of Greatland’s ASX listing provides background on the company’s transition into the Australian market.
Existing Processing Equipment Gives Havieron a Starting Point
Telfer’s role extends beyond its cash receipts.
The operation has two processing trains with a combined nominal capacity of 20 million tonnes a year. Havieron, approximately 45 kilometres east of Telfer, is being developed to use that existing infrastructure.
That gives the Greatland Resources growth strategy a practical advantage: the company already operates a large processing complex in the region.
It still needs to complete the work connecting the development with the operating site. During September, major Havieron packages for the haul road and high-voltage powerline went to market for tender.
Higher Costs Reduced the Margin Above AISC
The September difference between the realised price and AISC was A$3,055 an ounce.
That is a useful operating comparison, but it is not net profit. Growth expenditure and other company cash requirements still need to be considered.
Greatland remained on track for annual guidance, and September AISC was slightly better than its plan.
| FY27 guidance | Range |
| Gold production | 260,000–300,000oz |
| AISC | A$2,900–3,330/oz |
| Telfer growth capital | A$315–335 million |
| Havieron growth capital | A$365–435 million |
| Exploration and resource development | A$70–80 million |
Production is expected to be modestly weighted towards the second half because of open-pit scheduling.

Telfer’s Own Mine Life Requires Spending
Greatland plans to spend A$315–335 million on Telfer growth during FY27.
Some work has already produced visible progress. Refurbished trucks are arriving through FY27, while the fleet renewal programme is supporting increased open-pit material movement.
The next stage of tailings work is also scheduled. TSF8’s Stage 4 lift is due for completion in the third quarter of FY27, providing capacity into the second half of FY28.
Telfer therefore has two demands on its cash generation: support the new project and maintain the operating base that makes that support possible.
Havieron Has Entered Construction, With More Work Ahead
Greatland obtained the secondary approvals needed to commence construction and formally began Havieron’s construction phase in September.
The evaporation pond expansion was progressing to plan, and the ventilation blind-bore pad had been completed.
The presentation indicates first gold approximately two and a half years after construction commencement. That remains a development expectation.
Available liquidity was A$1.789 billion, comprising cash and A$475 million in undrawn revolving credit facilities. The undrawn facilities provide funding access; they are not additional cash already held.
The Share Price Outlook Depends on Delivery
The ASX GGP share price outlook now involves both an operating mine and a construction programme.
For Telfer, the next checks are production, grade, costs and cash generation. For Havieron, they are construction progress and spending against the development plan.
September showed that Greatland could fund substantial work and still increase cash. Repeating that result as construction spending develops would strengthen the financial basis for expansion.
