Yari Resources Limited (ASX: YAR) has advanced technical evaluation of the Arcadia Coal Project through review of a 199-hole database. The Company compiled exploration records across 43 coal drill holes alongside 156 gas, petroleum, and stratigraphic wells. Personnel integrated 5,400 lines of lithological records and 2,058 lines of coal quality data into the geological model.
The review examines coal seam development across permits EPC 1054 and EPC 1772 in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Correlation work confirms that interpreted seam depths match model predictions within 0.30 metres. The current Arcadia inventory maintains 282.0 million tonnes, comprising 164.0 million tonnes Indicated and 118.0 million tonnes Inferred.
Geologists repicked and correlated coal seams across each borehole in the database. The compilation incorporates 146 wells inside EPC 1054 and EPC 1772, while 10 wells sit outside permit boundaries. The Company reports no change to the current Mineral Resource estimate at this stage.
Strategic Impact & Value Creation
The review delivers a pathway to assess resource growth without immediate drilling expenditure. By utilising open-file records from previous campaigns, the explorer reduces outlays while identifying coal targets. Compiled well information indicates seam development and seam splitting towards the eastern boundary of the tenure.
Managing Director Courtney Taylor said: “Bringing together 199 historical boreholes and wells gives us a cost-effective way to test Arcadia’s growth potential. We’re putting existing data to work, with a clear focus on the ground east of the current resource. Our next step is to assess whether this information supports a larger resource and target any additional drilling where it can add the most value.”
Arcadia forms part of a consolidation strategy that links coal assets across the Bowen Basin. The project complements the Rolleston South deposit, which holds 222.9 million tonnes of coal resources. Together, both tenements provide Yari Resources with exposure to 504.9 million tonnes across Indicated and Inferred classifications.

Key Stakeholders & Operational Partners
Yari Resources leads exploration strategy under Managing Director Courtney Taylor and the board. Geological consultancy ROM Resources manages technical compilation and interpretation tasks. Principal Geologist Mark Biggs serves as Competent Person under JORC Code guidelines to confirm technical rigour.
Santos and Australia Pacific LNG hold petroleum leases that supply open-file well information. The Geological Survey of Queensland contributed stratigraphic borehole data from state archives. Tri-Star Coal, Tipperary, and Origin Energy also drilled wells across the tenure between 1957 and 2022.
The program engages the Australian mining industry, resource investors, and regional supply chains. Queensland coal producers utilise shared rail corridors and port infrastructure to reach global buyers. Investors track these technical programs to evaluate capital discipline and resource potential.
Project Footprint & Geological Context
The Arcadia project spans exploration tenements EPC 1054 and EPC 1772 in the Bowen Basin of Queensland. The property sits within the Rolleston district near operating mines and transport routes. Petroleum leases PL 1059 and PL 421 overlap sections of the exploration acreage.
The Bandanna Coal Measures host the coal deposit, specifically the Aries, Castor, and Pollux seams. These coal seams dip toward the east at two degrees beneath the Rewan Formation. Field records confirm that weathering does not affect targeted Bandanna coal seams across the tenure area.
Development Timeline & Key Milestones
Yari Resources released this project update to the Australian Securities Exchange on 3 November 2026. This announcement follows the acquisition of the Arcadia Coal Project, which the Company finalised in August 2026. Original resource calculations for Arcadia date to February 2017 when geological consultants prepared the maiden deposit model.
The underlying well data spans exploration campaigns conducted across the Bowen Basin between 1957 and 2022. State geologists commenced exploratory work during the 1960s, followed by gas appraisal during the 2000s and 2010s. Yari Resources integrated these legacy drilling logs into its digital database during late 2026.
Execution Strategy & Next Steps
The technical team executed compilation by collating wireline logs, survey records, and core assay measurements. For 99 wells lacking lithology logs, geologists identified coal seams directly through geophysical log interpretation. Technicians also loaded coal quality data from 62 boreholes, comprising 34 Tri-Star holes and 28 gas wells.
Technical personnel advance workstreams to evaluate resource expansion opportunities. These activities establish data foundations for future resource modelling:
- Technicians will capture collar coordinates, survey measurements, and casing records for gas wells. These entries establish spatial control across the regional geological database.
- Geologists will incorporate lithology logs and calibrate coal seam intervals against geophysical readings. This correlation clarifies seam continuity and thickness patterns across the eastern project area.
- Specialists will expand the coal quality database with results from certified laboratories. Technicians will evaluate ash yield, volatile matter, and moisture parameters across raw and washed coal samples.
- Modellers will complete geostatistical analysis to determine drill spacing for resource reclassification. Independent Competent Persons will review the geological model before Yari Resources releases any revised resource estimate.
