Trump Administration Launches Controversial COVID-19 Website, Blames WHO, Fauci, and Biden

In a move that is already stirring political and scientific debate, U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has launched a government-hosted website centered on COVID-19 — a digital platform that outlines the White House’s narrative of the pandemic while sharply criticizing several prominent figures and organizations.

The website, unveiled on Friday, alleges that the coronavirus pandemic originated from a laboratory leak in China, and directly lays blame on former President Joe Biden, former chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci, and the World Health Organization (WHO) for what it describes as “failures in pandemic management and response.”

The site denounces widely adopted pandemic measures such as mask mandates, lockdowns, and social distancing, labeling them “economically devastating and medically ineffective.” It frames the Trump administration’s pandemic response as having been obstructed by what it calls “misleading narratives and flawed science promoted by global health bodies and partisan officials.”

Targeting the WHO

A significant portion of the website is dedicated to outlining grievances with the World Health Organization. Trump had already begun the process of withdrawing the U.S. from the agency shortly after assuming office again in January, citing concerns about the WHO’s ties with China and its alleged lack of transparency during the early months of the outbreak.

According to the website, the administration claims the WHO “parroted false information from the Chinese Communist Party” and failed to act with urgency when signs of the outbreak first emerged. The administration continues to argue that American taxpayers should not fund an organization it deems “unaccountable and politically compromised.”

The WHO, for its part, has not responded to the newly launched website. However, it has consistently maintained that it supports ongoing global efforts to trace the origin of the virus and has welcomed cooperation from international partners, including China and the United States.

Fauci and Biden Under Fire

Also under direct attack is Dr. Anthony Fauci, the longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who led America’s early response to COVID-19 during Trump’s first term. The site accuses Fauci of misleading the public about the origins of the virus and of promoting lockdown strategies that, according to the Trump administration, caused irreparable harm to businesses and schools.

Earlier this year, Trump controversially ended U.S.-provided security for Fauci, saying the embattled scientist — who has faced threats due to his high-profile role during the pandemic — should arrange his own protection.

Biden, who served as president from 2021 to 2024, is criticized on the site for “doubling down on lockdowns” and for failing to hold China accountable during his term. The site alleges that the Biden administration’s policies prolonged the economic damage caused by the pandemic, a claim that is likely to be disputed by public health experts and economists alike.

The Lab Leak Theory Revisited

The website emphasizes the lab leak theory, suggesting that U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA, now believe it is more plausible than natural transmission. The Trump administration cites a CIA report that assessed — albeit with “low confidence” — that the virus more likely emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, rather than from a natural spillover from animals to humans.

Despite this, the agency noted that both scenarios remain possible, and that the intelligence community is divided on the issue. The Chinese government has repeatedly rejected the lab-leak hypothesis, accusing Washington of politicizing the investigation into the pandemic’s origin.

In response to continued U.S. speculation, Chinese officials have stated that their government has participated in international research efforts and has emphasized that no credible evidence has been presented to support the lab leak claims.

A Political and Scientific Flashpoint

The launch of the website comes at a time when pandemic-related debates are still shaping American politics and global scientific discourse. Public trust in health authorities remains fractured, and the issue of COVID-19’s origin has become a geopolitical flashpoint.

The Trump administration’s digital platform seems designed not only to present a narrative on past events but also to reignite skepticism toward global health governance and reframe America’s role in the post-pandemic world.

Neither Biden nor Fauci have publicly responded to the website as of publication. However, political analysts believe that the site may serve as a key messaging tool for Trump’s re-election campaign and his broader agenda to challenge international institutions.

As scientific investigations into COVID-19’s origins continue, the controversy over accountability, transparency, and truth is far from over — and the Trump administration’s website may be the opening salvo in a renewed debate over how the world responded to one of the most significant crises of the 21st century.
