Jetstar IT Outage Triggers Nationwide Delays, Passengers Stranded Across Airports: CHECK YOUR FLIGHT

Jetstar Faces Widespread Flight Disruptions

Jetstar confirmed that a technical failure impacted its check-in and boarding systems, leading to long queues and flight delays. Passengers at various airports reported being unable to check in or board their flights.

A Jetstar spokesperson stated that the IT issue had been fixed but acknowledged that delays would persist throughout Saturday. “Our operations are returning to normal, however there may still be some flow on impacts to flights today,” they said.

Passengers Express Frustration Online

Travellers took to social media to express their frustration over the delays.

  • One passenger posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Jetstar had suffered a nationwide outage, saying, “Nobody able to check in. Who knows when it will get fixed?”
  • Another traveller heading to Osaka reported their flight had been delayed without any explanation from the airline.
  • A Jetstar customer service account responded to one passenger, apologising for the inconvenience and assuring them the issue was being addressed.

Airline Advises Passengers to Check In Online

Jetstar advised passengers to check in online to avoid delays. “Online check-in remains available, and we encourage customers to use it if possible,” a spokesperson said.

The airline also recommended that passengers unable to check in online arrive early to allow extra time for manual processing.

IT Team Worked to Restore Systems

Jetstar confirmed that their IT team worked quickly to fix the issue. Initially, they assured customers that they were aware of the problem and working on a solution. “We appreciate everyone’s patience as our team resolves this issue as soon as possible,” the airline stated earlier.

The budget carrier has since apologised to affected travellers, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the outage.

Ongoing Flight Delays Expected

Although the technical issue was resolved, Jetstar warned that some flights might still experience delays due to the backlog.

“Passengers should check their flight status before heading to the airport,” the airline advised.

The cause of the IT outage remains unclear, and Jetstar has not provided further details about what led to the disruption.
