Ginny & Georgia Returns Key PloPoints to Remember Before Season

Netflix Confirms Season 3 Release Date

Ginny & Georgia returns for its third season on 5 June 2025 on Netflix. The show first premiered in 2021, with its second season arriving in 2023. Despite the four-year gap since season one, only a few months have passed in the series timeline. The series follows Georgia Miller and her daughter Ginny, whose time in Wellsbury has been anything but calm.

Georgia’s Criminal Past Remains Central

Georgia’s backstory plays a vital role in the series. She killed her first husband, Anthony Greene, by accident. Georgia drugged him hoping he’d sleep, but the pills caused his death. She then called her old motorcycle gang to cover up the crime. Later, she murdered her second husband, Kenny Drexel, on purpose. Kenny had made unwanted advances toward Ginny, prompting Georgia to poison him using wolfsbane in a smoothie.

Private Investigator Continues to Chase Georgia

Gabriel Cordova, a private investigator hired by Kenny’s ex-wife, continues his pursuit. He moved to Wellsbury under the alias Jesse and dated Georgia’s colleague Nick. Gabriel’s suspicions alerted Ginny to Georgia’s involvement in Kenny’s death. Though he nearly gave up, Tom Fuller’s suspicious death renewed his interest.

Early Encounter With Joe Adds Depth

Georgia first met Joe, now owner of Blue Farm Cafe, when she was 15 and pregnant. He gave her sunglasses and a sandwich during a chance meeting. Years later, Georgia moved to Wellsbury, where Joe still harbours feelings for her. Georgia invited him to her wedding, and he supported her as a friend.

Georgia’s Relationship With Zion Remains Unresolved

Zion, Ginny’s father, shares a complicated history with Georgia. They met as teens and had Ginny together. Georgia left when Zion’s parents tried to take custody. Though they’ve reunited and separated multiple times, Zion remains emotionally tied to her. He now dates Simone, but unresolved feelings linger.

Austin’s Action Adds Another Layer

In season two, Gil, Austin’s father, returns after prison. Georgia had framed him for embezzlement to escape his abuse. After Gil resumed violent behaviour, Austin shot him in the arm. Georgia and Ginny covered it up. Mayor Paul later ensured Gil could no longer threaten Georgia.

Ginny and Marcus End Relationship

Ginny and Marcus became a couple in season two after an on-again-off-again dynamic. However, Marcus fell into depression and broke up with Ginny. Maxine explained Marcus’s condition, and Ginny chose to support him as a friend. Marcus showed his support by attending Georgia’s wedding.

Friend Group Faces Separate Struggles

Ginny’s friends experience their own challenges. Maxine started a relationship with costume designer Silver after her split with Sophie. Bracia finally dated her crush, Bryon. Abby struggled the most, hiding an eating disorder while dealing with her parents’ divorce. Her friends remain unaware of her condition.

Paul Learns the Truth Before Wedding

Georgia confessed her past to Paul before their wedding, excluding the murders. Georgia planned to leave town, but Ginny convinced her to stay. Paul decided to marry her anyway, showing acceptance and taking steps to protect her from Gil.

Wedding Ends With Arrest

Georgia was arrested during her wedding reception for the murder of Tom Fuller. Days earlier, Georgia had smothered Tom, who was in a coma. She called it a favour to Cynthia Fuller, who had helped block Gil from renting in Wellsbury. Gabriel became suspicious after Nick revealed Georgia was present at Tom’s death. Authorities arrested Georgia at the reception. Austin had seen her kill Tom, creating emotional tension going into season three.

Season two concluded with a major shift in the storyline. Viewers can expect heightened drama and deeper consequences as the story continues.
