A Queensland man has won $60 million in Powerball just two days after a Sydney woman took home a record-breaking $100 million in Oz Lotto. The two massive wins have sparked excitement among Australians, with lottery fever reaching new heights.
Winning Numbers Revealed
The winning numbers for Powerball draw 1499 were 20, 23, 34, 19, 24, 31, and 10, with the Powerball number 14. Only one entry secured the division one prize, making one lucky player an instant multimillionaire.
Bribie Island Man’s Life-Changing Moment
A man from Bribie Island in Queensland was in bed when he received the life-changing call. He had been daydreaming about winning the lottery when the call came through.
“No way. It’s after 9pm but this calls for a bottle of champagne!” he told The Lott officials.
“Is that real? I can’t stop laughing. Holy sh*t!”
The stunned winner nearly missed out on buying a ticket. He had become distracted and almost forgot to enter the draw.
“This is really strange but a few months back, I had a vivid dream that I had gone into a lottery draw with a mate, and that our entry had won $40m,” he said.
“Ever since then, our friend has bought a ticket when the draw is over $40m.”
He had been playing the same numbers for over a decade, occasionally switching them up. Luckily, he used them that night.
Plans for the $60 Million Windfall
The father said the money would allow him to help many people.
“I’ve got kids that I can help and plenty of friends doing it tough,” he said.
He also planned to fulfil a long-time wish for his mother.
“My mum used to have this vintage car that she loved to bits. She had to sell it one day and she cried all the way home.
“I think I’m going to keep the tradition going by buying the same model again. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do!”
The man still could not believe his luck.
“What an exciting night! How are we going to sleep now? We might call one of our children tonight and ask what colour Chevy they want.
“Thank you so much.”
Sydney Woman’s $100 Million Oz Lotto Win
A Sydney woman has made history after winning the entire $100 million Oz Lotto jackpot, marking the biggest individual win in the game’s history.
The Elizabeth Hills woman received a late-night call from lottery officials after the Oz Lotto draw on Tuesday night. She had just finished watching Married at First Sight and was about to sleep when the call came through. Initially, she thought she was being pranked.

“Who is this? Why are you calling this late?” she said, stunned by the unexpected call.
“What the hell! Can you repeat that? Oh my god! Don’t lie to me! You better not be pranking me! I don’t know whether to believe you or not.”
The news left her in disbelief.
“Internally, I’m sweating bullets! Are you sure this is real? Oh my gosh. I still can’t believe it,” she added.
The woman had only bought the ticket after seeing the massive jackpot on offer.
“I only treat myself to lotteries when there’s a big jackpot, and I saw $100 million on offer in Oz Lotto and decided to give it a go.”
Plans for the $100 Million Windfall
The massive win will allow her to make some significant changes in her life.
“I love my job, but I won’t need to work seven days a week anymore. It’s actually really nice to think that I won’t need to work!” she exclaimed.
The woman plans to buy her own home.
“I’ll finally be able to buy a place of my own. It’s so exciting,” she shared.
She also plans to spoil herself.
“I’ll start treating myself more. I’ll go on some holidays!”
With the Oz Lotto jackpot $100 million in hand, she is ready to live a life she had only dreamed of.
Australia’s Lottery Fever Continues
One in six Australian adults had purchased a ticket for Thursday’s Powerball draw. It was the first time in four months that the jackpot had reached such a massive prize. If no one had won, next week’s draw would have climbed to $100 million.
Powerball has delivered 13 division one winners in 2025, with total prize money reaching $313 million so far.
Australia’s Luckiest Lottery States
Victoria had the most division one lottery wins last financial year, while NSW players took home the highest prize money.
In November, when Powerball hit $100 million, Australians purchased 8,000 tickets per minute at 6.17pm.
The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said Australians have different strategies for picking lottery tickets.
“Some players tell us they deliberately pick outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won’t strike twice.”
Another Historic Week for Australian Lotteries
With two massive wins in one week, Australian lottery excitement is at an all-time high. Whether by chance, luck, or persistence, these winners have shown that life can change in an instant.
