Joey and Jenna wowed the audience and judges with a freestyle performance to “Canned Heat” by District 78 ft Jake Simpson. The duo seamlessly blended tennis and dance, using light-up tennis rackets to captivate the crowd.
Jenna became emotional as she reflected on their journey, saying, “[I’ve] waited to be partnered with somebody like you that is so willing to make my dreams come true with my choreography.”
After the win, Joey expressed his gratitude, saying, “This whole experience has been unbelievable. Ilona, you have had an amazing season. I love you, all the finalists in it, the judges — thank you for bearing with us, I tried my best, I promise!”
Chandler Kinney Celebrates Black Excellence
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong created history by being the first Black couple to reach the Dancing with the Stars finale. Their freestyle honoured the contributions of Black artists in entertainment.
Bruno Tonioli called their performance “a truly grand celebration for the grand finale.” Chandler, who scored a perfect 30, shared, “To be the first Black couple to win the mirrorball [trophy] would be so special.”
Ilona Maher Dances for Inspiration
Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten delivered an emotional freestyle to “Femininomenon” by Chappell Roan. Ilona said her dance was for “all the girls who see themselves in me. I am strong and powerful, but I also can be graceful.”
Carrie Ann Inaba praised Ilona’s journey, saying, “You have become a true leading lady!” Ilona’s performance also received a perfect score.
Danny Amendola’s Memorable Journey
Danny Amendola and Witney Carson impressed the judges with their freestyle inspired by Barbie and Ken. Their routine blended “Pink” by Lizzo and “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling.
Judge Derek Hough called Danny “one of the biggest surprises of this entire season,” highlighting his unforgettable performances. Danny and Witney finished with a score of 29/30.
Stephen Nedoroscik’s Emotional Farewell
Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold brought tears to the audience with their freestyle to “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. The routine featured Stephen’s gymnastics teammates and showcased his growth throughout the season.
Derek Hough commended Stephen’s performance, saying, “I remember watching you on TV during the Olympics and thinking, ‘Man, I think he’d be great on Dancing with the Stars.’”
Xochitl Gomez Returns for a Special Performance
Season 32 winner Xochitl Gomez made a dazzling return to the ballroom. She performed “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan with Val Chmerkovskiy.
Reflecting on her journey, Xochitl said, “I want to be able to showcase Val and I’s partnership, and the time I had on Dancing with the Stars.”
The Final Results
The night ended with Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson crowned as champions. Danny Amendola and Witney Carson placed fifth, followed by Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold in fourth. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong secured third place.
