Sony opens summer showcase with 50-minute presentation
Playstation: Sony launched its June State of Play ahead of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. The 50-minute presentation revealed major updates and new announcements. It featured highly anticipated PS5 titles, game trailers, and confirmed release windows.
Ghost of Yotei gets standalone showcase in July
Sony confirms dedicated State of Play for Ghost of Yotei
Sucker Punch Productions returned with Ghost of Yotei. The title is the direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Sony confirmed a separate State of Play event dedicated to Ghost of Yotei in July.
“The show will be focused entirely on Ghost of Yōtei, coming to PS5 on October 2. You’ll get an extended look at new and evolved gameplay mechanics, including exploration, combat, and much more. Stay tuned for more information on where and when to watch,” PlayStation Blog stated.
Built from the ground up for PlayStation 5
Sony also confirmed that the game is being developed from the ground up for the PlayStation 5. The title features improved visual environments and upgraded gameplay. It is set 300 years after Jin Sakai’s story, near Mount Yotei.

Studio promises major world-building upgrades
“This is also Sucker Punch’s first game built from the ground up for PlayStation 5, and we’re excited to build on the visual foundation we established in Ghost of Tsushima by making the world feel even more real.
We have massive sightlines that let you look far across the environment, whole new skies featuring twinkling stars and auroras, even more believable movement from wind on grass and vegetation, and more improvements we’ll share in the future,” the developer added.
Arc System Works unveils Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works announced Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a 4v4 tag fighter. It features Spider-Man, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, and Doctor Doom. The fighting game launches in 2026 for PS5 and PC.
Final Fantasy Tactics makes a return
Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. The updated version includes fully voiced dialogue and modernised UI. Quality of life improvements were added, along with an auto save feature. It combines the original gameplay with War of the Lions translation.
Lumines Arise brings music-infused puzzles
