Aeris Resources Expands Tritton Resources: Australia Copper Growth Outlook 2026

Aeris Resources just quadrupled its Tritton Ore Reserves and lifted Mineral Resources 70%, cementing its long-life copper hub strategy in central New South Wales.

Aeris Resources Limited (ASX: AIS) just handed the market a big number. Mineral Resources at its Tritton Operations are up 70%. Ore Reserves have quadrupled.

That is not a small update. It puts real weight behind the Company’s push to expand Tritton into a long-life copper hub, and it lands right as Australia’s copper sector is chasing the same thing: supply that lasts.

What Happened At Tritton Operations

The update, dated 30 Jun 2026, covers Aeris’ 100% owned Tritton Operations in central New South Wales. Two things drove it. The Peel Mining Limited acquisition added fresh ground. Record underground drilling through FY26 added the rest.

The figures sit at 33 million tonnes of Mineral Resources hosting about 540,000 tonnes of copper. Ore Reserves stand at 10 million tonnes of approximately 180,000 tonnes of copper.

  • Mineral Resources up 70% to 33Mt containing approximately 540kt copper
  • Ore Reserves up fourfold to 10Mt containing approximately 180kt copper
  • Maiden Constellation Underground Ore Reserve of 3.8Mt containing approximately 62kt copper
  • Maiden Mallee Bull Ore Reserve of 2.7Mt containing approximately 66kt copper
  • Budgerygar Ore Reserves up 317% following mining depletion versus December 2024
  • Avoca Tank Mineral Resources up 180% on high-grade results at depth

Why This Matters For The Copper Sector

The Company added a Maiden Constellation Underground Ore Reserve and a Maiden Mallee Bull Ore Reserve. Together, these additions reshape the scale and life of the Tritton copper hub.

This approach supports the long-term Tritton copper project Australia 2026 growth pathway. Demand for copper is rising all over the world as economies put money into electrification and grid construction. This Australian copper mining growth trend for 2026 bodes well for mid-tier producers such as Aeris.

Who Is Involved: Peel Mining Acquisition Drives Growth

The Peel Mining Limited acquisition delivered the Mallee Bull and Wirlong deposits to Aeris. These deposits added approximately 200,000 tonnes of contained copper to the Group’s resource inventory. Around 160,000 tonnes of that copper sits in the higher confidence Indicated Mineral Resource category.

The Company also tripled its underground diamond drilling metres during FY26. Drilling focused on the Avoca Tank and Budgerygar deposits within the Tritton package. This program delivered more than 2 million tonnes of new Mineral Resource across both sites.

Executive Chairman Comments

Andre Labuschagne, Executive Chairman of Aeris Resources Limited, called the Reserve update a significant milestone for Tritton Operations. He said more than 10 million tonnes in Ore Reserve equals over five years of mill feed. He added that Aeris has built a strong foundation for a long life, multi-mine copper operation.

He said the Peel acquisition delivered a maiden 2.7 million tonne Ore Reserve at Mallee Bull. He said exploration investment generated material organic growth at Avoca Tank and Budgerygar. Together, these initiatives expand and diversify ore sources around the existing Tritton processing infrastructure.

Where And When The Growth Occurred

Aeris operates the Tritton Copper Operations from its regional base in central New South Wales. The Company also runs the Cracow Gold Operations in Queensland alongside its copper business. The Board lodged this Metals and Mining sector update on 21 Jul 2026.

Nine of ten known deposits within the Tritton tenement package remain open at depth. The Tritton deposit itself extends more than two kilometres down-dip. Constellation and Murrawombie have each been defined over more than one kilometre down-dip.

How The Growth Will Play Out

The Company plans around 85,000 metres of underground drilling across Tritton during FY27. Aeris will use this drilling to keep converting Mineral Resources into Ore Reserves. A revised life of mine plan and production target is due in the first half of FY27.

At Constellation, drilling will target the remaining 0.5 million tonnes of inferred resource inside the open pit. Metallurgical test work will also target higher recoveries from oxide material at the site.

At Mallee Bull, the Company will refine its mine plan and production schedule through FY27. Feasibility studies will assess ore transport options to the existing Tritton processing plant. Work will also progress on the exploration decline and environmental approvals for Mallee Bull.

Industry Outlook

Global copper demand continues to rise on the back of electrification, renewables and industrial modernisation. As of 2025, the size of the copper market worldwide was reportedly US$261.93 billion It is projected to be US$466.67 billion by 2034, with a CAGR of 6.63%.

This backdrop underpins the broader Australia copper mining growth 2026 theme, with producers best positioned to capitalise on rising global demand and able to extract production at low capital costs. Assets like Tritton, already built around processing capacity, are well placed to benefit as electrification and grid upgrades accelerate copper consumption worldwide.

Future Direction And Impact On Tritton’s Long-Term Output

The Company expects steady news flow as drilling and studies continue through FY27. The expanded resource and reserve inventory will underpin an updated Life of Mine plan for Tritton. Future reserve growth will depend on exploration success, technical studies, permitting and market conditions.

This growth also has a direct impact on Tritton’s mine life, ore diversity and future production scheduling. Investors in the Aeris Resources Tritton expansion Australia story will watch the FY27 life of mine update closely.
