Police said they got several calls to the building of the Los Angeles Police Department around 5:30 a.m., reporting a barefoot and half-naked man walking in Studio City. Patrol officers responded to the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard and encountered the man, Montero Lamar Hill, alias Lil Nas X.
The rapper allegedly rushed at officers when they attempted to move closer to him, according to the LAPD. He was overpowered, apprehended, and subsequently transported to a local hospital. Officials have described his status as a possible overdose, although they have been unable to identify the cause.
Altercation With Officers
Police officers told NBC News that Hill punched one of the officers in the face twice during the encounter. Police deemed the incident an arrest for suspected battery. He was arrested before being taken for medical treatment.
Officers said it was not known whether the rapper was intoxicated or in a state of mental distress. Booking information for Hill could not be obtained immediately through Los Angeles County’s database.
