Linkin Park Leaves Perth Off 2026 Australian Tour

Since 2005, Linkin Park has never ventured into Australian territories for any live performances. With their announcement has come a lot of joy, but also disappointment. Perth fans have been omitted from the 2026 “From Zero World Tour” itinerary that marks stops in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney only.

Why Did Linkin Park Exclude Perth?

The omission of Perth from the lineup has angered many Western Australians. Social media has been awash with cries to Live Nation to reconsider. One local fan summed up the feeling: “Ffs seriously? Perth misses out again.” Another from Brisbane chimed in, “Honestly, Perth needs some love. Can we petition for these bands to bless the West Coast?”

Perth and the band have a history: the city hosted them back in 2013 during the Soundwave Festival alongside Metallica and Blink-182. That gig remains their last performance in Western Australia before their long national absence.

Linkin Park’s 2026 tour skips Perth, visits only Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Which Cities Will Host the Shows?

The Australian leg is scheduled for early March 2026. Dates for these shows are:

  • Brisbane Entertainment Centre – 3rd March 2026
  • Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne – 8th March 2026
  • Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney – 14th March 2026

The band has been set on the From Zero World Tour, meaning these dates land between an entire generation of around 90 shows through five continents from 2024 to mid-2026.

How Has the Band Changed Since 2013?

Linkin Park’s fame was cemented in the late 1990s and the early 2000s. Their now extinct style of rap, nu-metal, and electronic rock set the tone for alternative music. 2017 would be henceforth considered their hardest ordeal when the frontman, Chester Bennington, died by suicide.

After a seven-year hiatus, shining again in the limelight in September 2024, with Emily Armstrong as the new co-lead vocalist. Armstrong’s induction was met with both positive and negative feedback from the fan base. But it was a bold step toward the future. The current lineup is:

  • Mike Shinoda – co-vocals, guitar, keyboards
  • Brad Delson – lead guitar
  • Joe Hahn – DJ
  • Dave Farrell – bass
  • Colin Brittain – drums

Armstrong and Brittain are the new blood steering the band into its new era.

What Is the Market Size for the Tour?

The global live music market is expected to cross 35 billion USD by 2027, post-pandemic touring demand serving as a major driving force. In Australia, the live concert business pays out more than AUD 1.6 billion annually, with foreign rock acts that largely dominate the scene.

This would surely be a very commercially viable tour for Linkin Park. The release of their From Zero Deluxe Edition in May 2025 created a lot of buzz on the charts. The album contains the single Let You Fade, which heightened streaming engagement. With more than 54 million Spotify monthly listeners and 100 million albums sold globally, the band continues to be a worldwide force.

Will Perth Ever See Linkin Park Again?

As yet, the band is making no move to announce additional concert dates. Considering their past in Perth and the very vibrant live music scene of that city, the industry thinks that another visit to Perth could very well be in the cards.

Hence, for now, the fans in Western Australia will have to travel interstate to catch the band live. It remains to be seen whether or not the efforts will have an impact on Live Nation.

Closure Thoughts

The 2026 tour of Australia by Linkin Park will certainly go down as a major milestone in their post-hiatus career. While few are truly excited by the synthesis of the new era with the Emily Armstrong cohort, the opportunity lost to Perth has certainly triggered some discussion. Armed with a booming live music scene, demand might just get Western Australia on the itinerary, at least for now. Until then, the East Coast has the exclusive rights to one of the most awaited rock tours in decades.
