Gladstone Fire Fatalities: Mother And Teens Die In Tragic Blaze

A fierce blaze tore through a two-storey home in Toolooa, Gladstone, early Wednesday morning, leaving three people dead and a shocked community in mourning. The Gladstone house fire news reports that the fire started on Whiting Street just before 6 am and quickly devoured the entire house before firefighters arrived. Firefighters from six different stations of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene; however, by that time, the fire had taken over the house.

According to a spokesperson from the fire department, the fire was so hot that parts of the house collapsed, and the crew could not get in because it was too hazardous. “Crews couldn’t get in to do their primary search until it was under control,” the spokesperson said.

Firefighters spent almost two hours fighting the fire, and around 8 o’clock, they were finally able to control it. Even though they tried hard, the upper floor of the house completely collapsed, and the smoke continued to rise from the site long after the fire had been put out.
