Culpeo Minerals Advances Chilean Copper Strategy with Drilling, Land Expansion and Strong Exploration Pipeline

Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO) advanced drilling, expanded its Chilean landholding by 45%, and strengthened its copper exploration pipeline, setting the stage for multiple exploration catalysts.

Culpeo Minerals Limited (ASX: CPO, OTCQID: CPORF) (“Culpeo” or the “Company”) has delivered another active quarter, progressing exploration across its flagship Chilean copper-gold assets while strengthening its financial and operational position.

During the quarter ended 30 June 2026, the Company advanced drilling preparations at the Fortuna Project, continued development planning at the Lana Corina Project, expanded its exploration footprint by 45% following quarter-end, and maintained a debt-free balance sheet with A$2.1 million in cash.

Copper demand is soaring because of the global shift toward clean energy. Culpeo is positioning itself right in the middle of this boom, focused on finding large scale copper systems in Chile, one of the best mining regions in the world.

Fortuna Project Moves into Active Drilling Phase

The Fortuna Project remained Culpeo’s principal exploration focus throughout the quarter. The Company advanced planning before commencing a four-hole, approximately 1,000-metre diamond drilling programme at El Quillay South shortly after quarter-end. The programme aims to test both strike and depth extensions of previously identified copper-gold mineralisation along the El Quillay Fault Zone (EQFZ).

The EQFZ extends for more than four kilometres at surface and hosts multiple copper and gold mineralised zones. Previous trenching returned highly encouraging intersections, including 43.1 metres grading 1.0% copper and 1.3g/t gold, providing strong geological justification for the current drilling campaign.

Although drilling commenced successfully in early July, an unseasonal rainfall event in Chile’s Region IV temporarily suspended operations, with drilling expected to resume after a two delay. Initial assay results remain anticipated during August 2026, subject to laboratory turnaround times.

Rock Chip Results Continue to Expand Exploration Potential

During the quarter, Culpeo completed extensive rock chip sampling across the La Florida and El Quillay prospects to identify new mineralised areas beyond previously drilled zones.

The programme produced encouraging results:

  • Four of fifteen La Florida samples returned greater than 1.0% copper
  • Highest La Florida assay reached 3.0% Cu
  • Two of seven El Quillay samples exceeded 1.0% Cu
  • Best El Quillay result returned 2.2% Cu
  • Highest gold sample recorded: 1.3 g/t Au, approximately one kilometre east of previous significant copper mineralisation.

Importantly, the highest-grade La Florida sample was collected roughly one kilometre west of earlier drilling, suggesting the mineralised system may extend well beyond currently defined areas or potentially represent an entirely new exploration target.

Meanwhile, geological mapping identified a structural flexure within the El Quillay Fault Zone, a favourable setting commonly associated with porphyry copper systems. These geological observations played a significant role in designing the current drilling programme.

IP Survey Targets Larger Copper-Gold Systems

To complement drilling activities, Culpeo commenced a large-scale Induced Polarisation (IP) survey covering approximately 24 line kilometres across ten survey lines.

The survey encompasses several priority targets, including:

  • La Florida
  • El Quillay North
  • El Quillay South
  • Piedra Dura

The objective is to identify chargeability anomalies that may indicate sulphide-rich mineralisation beneath surface expressions, allowing the Company to refine future drill targeting.

Lana Corina Continues Towards Next Drill Programme

While Fortuna remained operationally active, Culpeo also continued advancing its Lana Corina Project.

The Company progressed permitting, technical work and logistical preparations for a  2,000-metre diamond drilling programme targeting the Vista Montana Prospect during the second half of 2026.

Lana Corina already hosts an interpreted porphyry copper system extending more than 1,000 metres along strike and reaching widths of up to 400 metres. Previous exploration has identified high-grade breccia pipes extending beyond 200 metres vertically, while deeper drilling has intersected extensive porphyry-hosted stockwork mineralisation below 600 metres.

Geochemical and geophysical surveys have also outlined a compelling 250m x 250m drill target at Vista Montana, where historical surface sampling returned values up to:

Copper2.62% Cu
Gold2.07 g/t Au
Silver11.2 g/t Ag

Landholding Expands by 45%

Following quarter-end, Culpeo significantly strengthened its long-term exploration strategy by securing 24 additional Exploration Licences across the Lana Corina and Fortuna Projects.

The acquisition added 2,809 hectares, increasing the Company’s total Chilean landholding to 9,033 hectares.

The newly granted licences surround known copper-gold mineralisation and provide greater scope for district-scale exploration while protecting strategic ground around existing discoveries.

Strong Financial Position Supports Exploration

Alongside operational progress, Culpeo continued strengthening its corporate position.

Key corporate developments included:

  • Appointment of David Sanders as Chief Financial Officer.
  • Successful completion of the Unmarketable Parcel Sale Facility, reducing the shareholder register by 326 holders.
  • All resolutions passed at the Annual General Meeting.
  • Announcement of a pro-rata option entitlement issue targeting approximately A$595,000 before costs.
  • Quarter-end cash balance of A$2.1 million with no debt.

Upcoming Catalysts

Investors can expect several potential value-driving milestones over the coming months:

  • Completion of El Quillay South drilling
  • Initial drill assay results expected during August 2026
  • Continued mapping and sampling at La Florida and El Quillay
  • Final approvals for Vista Montana drilling
  • Commencement of the 2,000m Vista Montana drilling programme
  • Completion of the option entitlement offer
  • Ongoing prioritisation of exploration targets across both flagship Projects.

Investors’ Outlook

Culpeo Minerals enters the second half of 2026 with multiple exploration catalysts capable of driving news flow. Drilling is now underway at El Quillay South, geophysical surveys are refining priority targets, and preparations continue for the fully funded Vista Montana campaign.

The Company’s 45% expansion in Chilean landholding further enhances its district-scale exploration potential, while a debt-free balance sheet and A$2.1 million cash position provide financial flexibility to execute upcoming programmes.

For investors seeking exposure to early-stage copper exploration, the next several months could prove particularly significant as drilling assays, IP survey interpretation and further exploration updates begin to define the scale of mineralisation across Culpeo’s flagship Chilean Projects.
