Sources suggest the attacks resemble tactics used in Hamas-style operations.

In retaliation, this conducted precision strikes against terrorist camps in Pakistan, including air defence systems, sending a strong message against Pakistan’s provocations. In  authorities have canceled leave for government employees in Delhi and West Bengal, and educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have closed in light of the escalating situation. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the precision of Operation Sindoor, highlighting its success in minimizing collateral damage while eliminating terrorist threats.

Pakistan F-16 Shot Down by Indian Surface-to-Air Missile

An F-16 supersonic fighter jet from the Pakistan Air Force was shot down by an it surface-to-air missile near the Sargodha air base. This development comes amid Pakistan’s failed attempts to target Jammu with drones and missiles. The F-16 took off from the heavily defended Sargodha air base, a key station for the Pakistan Air Force.

Escalation and Heavy Artillery Fire

Pakistan escalated hostilities by launching artillery fire across Jammu and Pathankot. Areas like RS Pura, Arnia, and Hiranagar in Jammu were heavily shelled, and Pathankot saw intense artillery fire. Its air defence systems intercepted Pakistani drones, and sirens rang out in Chandigarh and Mohali, with enforced blackouts across affected regions.

India’s Military Response: A Show of Strength

Its thwarted Pakistan’s missile attacks on several military installations using the S-400 missile defence system and drones. It neutralized a Pakistani air defence site in Lahore, showcasing its technological capabilities and military preparedness. These measures were taken to safeguard key installations across northern India, including Jammu, Pathankot, and Amritsar.
