Culpeo Minerals Limited (ASX: CPO): Company Overview

There is a particular type of company that keeps hitting copper while the broader market is looking elsewhere. And that would mean a company like Culpeo Minerals Limited (ASX: CPO). A copper stock with two projects in one of the most productive copper belts on the planet.

The ground is located in the infrastructure-laden Coastal Cordillera of Chile’s Coquimbo Region, approximately 350km north of Santiago. There are roads, power and water already on site and the Los Pelambres mine, which is a world-class project right next door.

The scale of what’s already been found is what stands out here. Lana Corina returned 454m at 0.93% CuEq in a single intercept, a big number for a company of Culpeo’s size. At Fortuna, the maiden drill program at La Florida hit high-grade copper on the first hole.

Culpeo Minerals Limited (ASX: CPO): News and Announcements

What Sets Culpeo Apart

  1. A discovery hole that keeps growing

The 454m at 0.93% CuEq intercept at Lana Corina remains open in every direction. Follow-up holes have since extended that footprint to a mineralised corridor exceeding 3km of strike, potentially linking the discovery through to the Vista Montana target.

  1. Success at first attempt, twice over

Lana Corina delivered a standout intercept in its first extended drilling campaign. Fortuna’s La Florida prospect then repeated the trick, returning high-grade copper on the first-ever drill holes put into that ground.

  1. Jurisdictional advantage

Chile is the top producer of copper around the world. The Culpeo ground is located in an established district with existing roads and power, not on the outer frontier of a jurisdiction still awaiting basic infrastructure.

  1. Multi-commodity exposure in one package

Beyond copper, Lana Corina carries a genuine molybdenum credit, while rock chips at Vista Montana have returned gold and silver values too. That gives Culpeo more than one way to add value per metre drilled.

  1. Debt-free balance sheet

Culpeo closed the March 2026 quarter with A$2.75 million in cash and no corporate debt, an improvement on the A$1.98 million held at 31 December 2025, funded through ongoing equity placements.

  1. Management credibility

The Board carries direct discovery experience in Chile through Tesoro Gold’s El Zorro project, the First Intrusive Related Gold System Discovered and Defined in Chile, anew gold province, and all three Directors hold equity positions in Culpeo.

PROJECT AND OPERATIONS

Lana Corina Project: Coquimbo Region, Chile

Lana Corina sits roughly 350km north of Santiago, in a corridor running 3km along strike and up to 500m wide. Several outcropping copper-bearing breccia pipes sit above a mineralised porphyry system underneath. Culpeo owns 50% of Lana Corina, with rights to earn up to 80% under an amended earn-in it signed in March 2026.

Lana Corina Diamond Drilling Highlights:

Drill Hole Result
CMLCD014 454m at 0.93% CuEq from 90m
- including 78m at 1.24% CuEq from 200m
- including 68m at 1.14% CuEq from 320m
- including 40m at 1.20% CuEq from 394m
CMLCD002 257m at 1.10% CuEq from 170m
CMLCD003 173m at 1.09% CuEq from 313m
CMLCD010 169m at 1.21% CuEq from 239m
CMLCD013 72m at 0.91% CuEq from 352m, incl. 35m at 1,704ppm Mo

Vista Montana Prospect

Vista Montana is a high-priority target located within the north-east of Lana Corina, within the same 3km prospective corridor. A 250m by 250m copper porphyry-style anomaly was defined through follow-up mapping, rock chips and channel sampling. Historic rock chip assays include 2.62% copper, 2.07g/t gold, 11.2g/t silver, 749ppm antimony and 117.5ppm bismuth to date.

Lana Corina Amended Earn-In Schedule

Stage Timing Consideration (US$) Aggregate Interest
1–4 Complete 650,000 50%
5 Sept 2026 600,000 55%
6 Mar 2027 700,000 65%
7 Mar 2028 1,000,000 70%
8 Mar 2028 1,650,000 80%

Fortuna Project: Coquimbo Region, Chile

The Fortuna Project sits immediately north of Lana Corina, approximately 360km north of Santiago, within the same prolific Coastal Cordillera. Culpeo owns 80% of the project, which comprises a large, highly prospective landholding hosting extensive outcropping copper mineralisation and numerous historical small-scale workings.

La Florida Prospect

La Florida is a priority target. Trenching and surface sampling defined a mineralised corridor about 1.7km long and 500m wide. An eight-hole diamond drill program in October 2025, the first drilling ever done here, confirmed multiple zones of shallow, high-grade copper, with silver up to 5.19g/t.

Drill Hole Result
CMLFD002 6.65m at 1.03% Cu from 14m, incl. 4.40m at 1.44% Cu from 15m
CMLFD005 13.60m at 0.88% Cu from 4m, incl. 6.10m at 1.35% Cu from 10m
CMLFD005 16.00m at 0.70% Cu from 107m, incl. 7.47m at 1.36% Cu from 115m
- including 1.95m at 3.49% Cu from 121.5m, incl. 0.49m at 4.19% Cu

The results support the Company’s interpretation that drilling intersected the margins of a porphyry system, with potential for larger and higher-grade zones along strike and at depth.

El Quillay South Prospect

El Quillay South is located on the El Quillay Fault Zone, a regionally significant mineralised structure with substantial strike extent. The most recent ASX announcement for the Chile-focused ASX Copper Mining sector confirmed a four-hole diamond drilling programme, planned for approximately 1,000m, has now commenced to test the strike and depth potential of a mineralised fault corridor. Historical surface sampling here has returned 43.10m at 1.00% Cu and 1.31g/t Au. Initial assay results are expected in early August 2026.

Other Fortuna Targets

Target Historical Highlight
Piedra Dura Up to 9.78% Cu and 48.30g/t Au
Vaca Muerta 150m at 1.30% CuEq (historical channel)
Lucero 5.37% Cu (recent surface sampling)

GROWTH PIPELINE

The Road to a District-Scale Discovery.  Culpeo’s growth strategy rests on two interdependent pillars: fast-track Lana Corina toward a maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate, and follow up the maiden drilling success at Fortuna’s La Florida prospect to chase what management believes is a larger porphyry system.

Near-Term Priorities (2026)

Milestone Target Timeframe
El Quillay South drilling commenced July 2026
El Quillay South assay results Early August 2026
Lana Corina second phase drilling 2026
La Florida second phase diamond drilling 2026
Follow-up drilling at El Quillay and Piedra Dura 2026

Lana Corina: Extending the System

  • The 3km mineralised corridor linking Lana Corina to Vista Montana remains largely untested.
  • Mineralisation at Lana Corina remains open in all directions, with the deepest intercept to date reaching 544m.

Fortuna: Following Up Success

  • La Florida’s first-ever drilling programme is interpreted to have clipped the outer margins of a previously unrecognised porphyry system.
  • A second phase of drilling is planned to test for larger, higher-grade zones along strike and at depth.
  • El Quillay South is now being tested for the first time via diamond drilling, with results due early August 2026.
  • Additional targets at Piedra Dura, Vaca Muerta and Lucero remain in the pipeline for future follow-up.

Corporate Runway

  • Culpeo held A$2.75 million in cash at 31 March 2026, equating to an estimated six quarters of funding at the current rate of spend
  • The Company holds no corporate debt, giving it flexibility to fund further drilling as results warrant
  • Management continues to fund the exploration programme through a mix of operating discipline and periodic equity raises, with A$1.563 million in fresh equity proceeds received during the March 2026 quarter alone

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Culpeo Minerals is an ASX-listed copper explorer focused on Chile. Both its assets, Lana Corina and Fortuna, sit in the Coastal Cordillera copper belt, and both have already delivered high-grade drill results.

No, it’s still pre-revenue. For the year ended 31 December 2025, the Group posted a net loss after tax of A$1,813,295, with that capital going toward exploration.

A high-grade copper-molybdenum discovery where Culpeo holds 50%, with rights to earn up to 80%. Drilling has already returned 454m at 0.93% CuEq, and the system is open across a strike length of more than 3km.

Fortuna is an 80%-owned copper-gold project right next to Lana Corina, with historic workings spread across more than 6km of strike. Its La Florida prospect turned up high-grade copper on its first drill program back in October 2025.

Geoff McNamara serves as Interim Executive Chairman, supported by Non-Executive Directors Zeffron Reeves and Paul Schmiede. All three bring decades of combined resource sector experience across Chile, Brazil, and Australia.

No. As a pre-revenue explorer, Culpeo has not declared or paid dividends. All funds raised are reinvested into drilling and project advancement.

Culpeo trades on the ASX under the code CPO, and also on the OTCID market under CPORF.

El Quillay South assays are due in August 2026, followed by maiden drilling at Vista Montana, second phase of drilling at La Florida and continued drilling at Lana Corina.

Like any exploration company, Culpeo faces the usual risks: needing more capital down the line, exploration results that fall short, commodity price swings, and Chilean regulatory or permitting issues. Mineral resource estimates are also open to interpretation and can shift as new data comes in.
