This year’s countdown celebrates the best music released between 1 December 2024 and 30 November 2025.

The Hottest 100 countdown takes place on Saturday, 24 January 2026 at 12 pm AEDT. Triple J will broadcast the event live across all j stations. The nationwide listening party brings Australia together to celebrate music. Listeners on the West Coast can tune in at 9 am AWST.
Fans can listen via multiple platforms. The countdown streams online through the triple j website. Listeners can access the broadcast through DAB+ digital radio. Triple J also provides television coverage for the event. Classic FM radio remains an option for traditional audiences.
Extended Programming
The Hottest 100 weekend extends beyond the main countdown. Double J will revisit the Hottest 100 of 2005 on Sunday, 25 January. This replay allows listeners to revisit classics from two decades ago.
The Hottest 200 receives an entire week of programming. From Tuesday, 27 January through Friday, 30 January, triple j counts down 20 tracks daily. The station broadcasts at 8 am and 4 pm to reach different audiences. Saturday, 31 January features the complete list from 200 to 101 at 10 am local time.

Last year’s Hottest 100 shattered previous records. The 2025 countdown exceeded 5 million votes in total. The event raised over $400,000 for We Are Mobilise, the official charity partner. This year, triple j continues the partnership to support people experiencing homelessness.
