Far East Gold Extends Bonanza Gold Grades at Sua Prospect with Fifth Consecutive High-Grade Hit

Far East Gold Limited (ASX: FEG) has delivered another exceptional drill result from its Sua Prospect at the Idenburg Gold Project in Papua, Indonesia. The Company announced assays from diamond drillhole KSD027, marking the fifth consecutive hole to return high-grade and bonanza-grade gold intervals.

The results confirm a 50-metre lateral extension of the high-grade gold system, with mineralisation remaining open down-dip and along strike to the northeast.

Multiple Bonanza-Grade Gold Intervals Intersected

KSD027 was drilled 50 metres along strike from previously reported holes KSD025 and KSD026. The hole delivered multiple high-grade zones, including a standout bonanza-grade intercept of 175 g/t Au over 0.55 metres from 77.15 metres depth.

Significant intercepts from KSD027 include:

  • 8.55 g/t Au over 1.7m (from 14.4m), including 20.28 g/t Au over 0.7m
  • 49.47 g/t Au over 4.85m (from 73.85m), including:
    • 62.12 g/t Au over 3.85m (from 73.85m)
    • 93 g/t Au over 1.0m (from 74.5m)
    • 175 g/t Au over 0.55m (from 77.15m)
  • 11.2 g/t Au over 0.5m (from 96.15m)
  • 5.51 g/t Au over 0.80m (from 112.9m)

The broad, high-grade zone from 73.85 to 78.7 metres represents a significant mineralised interval that remains open for expansion.

Consistency Builds Confidence in Resource Expansion

The Company has now completed 10 diamond drillholes (KSD023 to KSD032) for 1,836 metres at Sua Prospect. Assay results have been received for five holes to date, with all five intersecting high-grade gold within multiple stacked quartz-sulphide veins.

Previously reported highlights include:

  • KSD023: 13.77 g/t Au over 9.8m, including 131 g/t Au over 0.8m
  • KSD024: 8.59 g/t Au over 35.5m, including 252.50 g/t Au over 0.8m
  • KSD025: 8.42 g/t Au over 7.7m, including 35.29 g/t Au over 0.6m
  • KSD026: 8.82 g/t Au over 4.5m, including 51 g/t Au over 0.5m

Historically, 19 of 22 drill holes at Sua intersected gold mineralisation, establishing a strong track record of success. Far East Gold’s systematic approach is now confirming continuity at depth and along strike, building confidence for a future resource upgrade.

What Makes These Results Significant?

KSD027 was drilled to test the same mineralised zone as historical holes KSD012 and KSD016, which were drilled up-dip at shallower depths. Notably, those historical holes returned only low-grade intersections of less than 1 g/t Au.

The high-grade bonanza zones in KSD027 demonstrate that weakly mineralised zones near the surface can host significantly higher grades at depth. This is a critical discovery for resource expansion, as it suggests the current JORC 2012 Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 296,000 ounces of gold at 3.7 g/t Au for Sua Prospect may have substantial upside potential.

Importantly, the high gold grades come from mineralised zones with little to no supergene alteration and are associated with very low arsenic concentrations (less than 100 ppm). This is highly favourable for future metallurgical processing and environmental management.

Far East Gold’s Non-Executive Chairman, Justin Werner, stated: “KSD027 confirms that high-grade gold continues below the historic intercepts and within numerous veins. This is the pattern we wanted to see at Sua in an orogenic lode system – continuity of structure and grade down-dip and along strike. The more holes we drill, the more confidence we gain that Sua is a highly fertile gold system with substantial untested potential.”

Expanded Drill Program Approved

Following the success of the initial 10-hole program, the Company has approved a focused extension comprising five additional diamond holes for 1,360 metres. These holes will test down-dip extensions and along-strike continuity of the high-grade zones.

Assays are pending from the remaining five drillholes (KSD028-032), which were designed to expand the current mineral resource area by an additional 150 metres along strike to the northeast.

The expanded program will also test deeper mineralised zones over the current resource footprint, with the aim of upgrading the current Inferred resource to Indicated classification.

Idenburg Project: A District-Scale Gold System

The Sua Prospect sits within the approximately 5-kilometre-long Sua-Afley shear zone, a prominent structural corridor that remains largely underexplored. The Idenburg Project hosts a JORC 2012 Inferred Mineral Resource of approximately 540,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 4.1 g/t Au across multiple prospects.

The Sua vein system is classified as an orogenic lode gold deposit, characterised by structurally controlled quartz-sulphide veins within intensely deformed metadiorite host rocks. Multiple episodes of deformation and sulphide formation are evident, with coarse visible gold observed in several drill intercepts.

This style of mineralisation is globally recognised for its high-grade continuity and potential for large-scale resource development.

Gold Price Momentum Supports Exploration Upside

Global gold prices continue to provide strong tailwinds for explorers like Far East Gold. As of 8 January 2026, spot gold is trading at approximately USD 4465 per ounce, up more than 27% year-on-year. Gold remains on the higher end, driven by ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and safe-haven demand.

This pricing environment enhances the economic appeal of high-grade discoveries like those at Sua, where bonanza-grade intervals and strong resource continuity position the project for potential development.

Investor’s Outlook

Far East Gold Limited (ASX: FEG) is gaining attention as one of the ASX’s standout gold explorers in early 2026. The Company’s systematic drilling at Sua has consistently delivered high-grade results, building investor confidence in the scale and quality of the mineralised system.

Stock Performance (as of 9 January 2026):

  • Current Price: AUD 0.147
  • Market Cap: AUD 55.05 million
  • 52-Week Range: AUD 0.110 – 0.190

Figure 6: FEG Price Chart [ASX]

The Company’s share price has responded positively to the consistent flow of high-grade drilling results from Sua. With assays pending from five additional holes and an expanded drill program underway, FEG remains firmly on the radar of investors seeking exposure to high-grade gold discoveries in tier-one jurisdictions.

What’s Next?

Far East Gold’s drilling campaign at Sua is expected to continue through early 2026, with results from holes KSD028-032 anticipated in the coming weeks. These holes will test the northeastern strike extension of the high-grade zones and provide critical data for a potential resource upgrade.

The Company is also advancing surface mapping programs over the Kwaplu Prospect, located along strike to the southwest of Sua, to define targets for an initial scout drilling program.

With a JORC-compliant mineral resource already established, a track record of bonanza-grade intercepts, and a systematic exploration strategy in place, Far East Gold is well-positioned to unlock the full potential of the Idenburg Gold Project.

As Justin Werner noted, “The more holes we drill, the more confidence we gain that Sua is a highly fertile gold system with substantial untested potential.” For investors, the journey is just beginning.
